Why I'm Running

I am not running as part of a political slate

I'm running for School Trustee because I believe the students, families and schools across North and South Delta deserve an independent voice at the Board table.

That means someone unencumbered by municipal political factions — someone who will listen to you, ask the difficult questions, work collaboratively and make decisions based on what is best for students, educators and our diverse community.

I believe Trustees should be elected individually and be accountable to the people who elected them — not to a group of candidates, a political organization or a predetermined agenda.

That doesn't mean working alone. On the contrary, a strong Board needs Trustees who can work together, listen to different perspectives and find common ground. Collaboration is most effective when every Trustee is free to think independently, ask questions and vote according to their own judgment.

I'm not running because I believe I have all the answers. I'm running because I have the leadership, experience, judgment and willingness to listen, learn, ask questions and do the work.

What independence looks like at the Board table

Accountable to you

No slate whip, no caucus position — just a Trustee answering to the electors of Delta.

Questions before votes

Reviewing the reports, seeking supporting evidence and thoughtfully considering all perspectives before making informed decisions.

Collaboration, not factions

Working respectfully with all Trustees, staff and partner groups to find common ground.

Students ahead of politics

Decisions measured against one test: is this better for students, educators and families?

Delta deserves School Trustees who will put students and our community ahead of politics.
