A bright school hallway in Delta

About

A parent, an uncle, a neighbour

My wife, Shante Sidhu, and I lived in North Delta for several years and currently reside in Tsawwassen. For many years public education has been a major part of our family's life.

We have four children — two currently attending elementary school in Tsawwassen and two attending Langara College. One of our older children graduated from South Delta Secondary School and is studying Journalism, while our eldest, a graduate of Tamanawis Secondary School in Surrey, is pursuing a career in Film Production.

Our extended family also has strong ties to Delta schools; I have nephews attending elementary school in Tsawwassen, a nephew who graduated from a secondary school in North Delta and a niece currently attending secondary school in North Delta.

As a parent and uncle, I understand the importance of strong schools, engaged families and a public education system that prepares every student for their important next steps.
