A commitment that goes well beyond this campaign

I currently serve as a Board Member of the Tsawwassen-based service group, The TOOBs, supporting various Delta charities and organizations including the Annual Christmas Hamper Drive with Deltassist.

As a Committee Member and the Beer Garden Coordinator with the Annual Tsawwassen Sun Festival, I helped organize one of Delta's longstanding community celebrations, providing a safe and supervised area for Festival attendees. I have also volunteered with the 3rd Boundary Bay Cub Scouts and continue to volunteer with Run Surrey Run.

My involvement in education has been particularly meaningful. In Surrey I served as Chair and Secretary of the Tamanawis Secondary School PAC, Secretary of the Boundary Park Elementary School PAC, and as a District PAC Representative for both schools.

These roles gave me the opportunity to work directly with parents, educators and administrators and to better understand the challenges and opportunities facing our schools.

I bring significant governance experience having previously served on various hotel, hospitality and real estate related Boards — most recently as a Director of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and a member of its Finance and Board Governance Committees.

These roles demanded responsible oversight, financial accountability, good governance and the importance of being informed and asking the right questions before making decisions. I have also served as Chair of both Tourism Sun Peaks and Tourism Richmond.
